The Omnium Software combines numerous synchronous (live) and asynchronous (recorded) features to assist users in creating effective online group collaboration environments – especially for e-learning purposes.
The Omnium Software features are divided into two main categories - Individual User Features and Team Features. All the features have been designed with you, the user in mind, and are very simple and easy to navigate. The following is a basic overview of what each of the features include.
The Individual User Features of the Omnium Software allow for the personalisation of the interface, giving users options to upload Profile information about themselves; showcase their work in the Portfolio areas; and see at a glance who is also part of the online community by looking at the Members List.
The Team Features focus on creating a structure for a group, or groups, of people working together online. This is a separate space, away from the main thoroughfare of the communal features, and exists so that team members have a space to communicate, work, and analyse their ideas and output in a more secluded area.
This is an area where coordinators can post notices and announcements to all or specific teams.
This is a place to view individual personal profiles. It enables Team members to get to know each other on a more personal level.
This space is used for works in progress and final works produced by a team to be displayed and reviewed.
Communal Features are the main core of the Omnium Software, where all users in the online community (including visitors and guests if appropriate) can interact and engage with each other, building a strong sense of community. Users can communicate via the contributing to topics (threads) in the Discussion Forum, and also via viewing news and announcements. These communal features are also where members can find readings, lectures, downloads, briefs or useful links.
Omnium Software is protected with a secure Login/Logout protocol. Users can choose to enter as either a visitor or a participant
The Welcome page provides a brief explanatory statement about the project or course to any visitor or user.

This is a public viewing area where selected works are showcased from the online community.
This is and area where users will find information posted for download in relation to projects, briefs, activities, and associated lessons.
Perhaps the core of online interaction, These are places where any user can create and engage in topics of discussion. These can also be subscribed to individually by users as well as include RSS feeds.
This is where project coordinators post lectures or readings relevant to the understanding of a new concept or project.
These features explore the exciting potential of the Internet and its possibilities to promote interaction and engagement at an immediate and live nature.
As users may be spread worldwide, this feature enables members to pinpoint the local time of others in the community.
The Users Online indicator simply allows users know at a glance who else is currently online within the online community.
A new and exciting feature of Omnium Software is that you can now customise your interface by choosing from our range of standard or custom colours and layouts. We have been working hard to develop this feature so that you as the user have more choices and freedom in the aesthetic of your Omnium interface.
